RAW – Seeds Beans
Cannellini Pole – This heirloom bean is an Italian beauty with soft, creamy skin. It knows its way around a pole (hey, we’re still talking about gardening here), so make sure to support the vine while it grows to encourage production.
Mardi Gras Blend – Ay caramba! These bright yellow and purple bean pods are as colourful as the festival they’re named after. Looks aside, they’re super tasty and will inspire the Jamie Oliver within you to use every bit of the heavy crop.
Cannellini Pole – Fresh or dried, these beans are an excellent source of protein, dietary fibre and complex carbohydrates. Like that one aunt of yours, they’re slightly nutty – but unlike her they make a tasty minestrone or paste e fagioli. Make sure you rinse them well before cooking, and soak dry beans overnight before preparation.
Sow in spring and summer, min temp 15C. Sow in full sun, space plants 20 x 45cm.
Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days and grow to 60-90cm. Harvest in 60-90 days
Mardi Gras Blend – If it’s presentation you’re after, use them raw – these beans fade to light green when cooked. But hey, they’re delicious either way. Serve them up in multiple dishes and win at life.
